This page is for my students.  I will update this page each day so that you know what was done in class.  If you are away for a day or more, you will be able to find out what we did for the day.  I hope that the information that is provided here will help you with all our class activities.

Grade 8:
 
Cooking Classes begin on Monday, January 10:  Half of the class will be cooking, while half of the class will be working on school work.  after three weeks, the students will switch.  The cost is $25.00 per student.
 
 
French: Allons-y from unit 5 is due on Friday, February 11.
 
Problem Solving:  Vacation Travel and Furniture Shopping are due on Friday, February 11.

Grade 8: Computation:  The students did short division drill # 19.  Katrina took up the drill with the class..
 
Grade 8: Devotions:  I read from 2 Corinthians 1:1-7.  I read "Papier Mache Facade" from our devotional. I opened with prayer.
 
Grade 8: Bible:  The students did lesson 6 questions 1 through 8.  These are due tomorrow.
 
Grade 8: Math: I taught lesson 4-9: "Solving Problems Using Equations - Part 1".  We worked through some of the examples from the lesson and went on to work through some of of the questions from exercises 4-9.  We did questions one through five.  We will continue with this lesson tomorrow.
 
Grade 7: Geography: We started the class by working on a unit title page.  this is due next Wednesday (February 16).  The students worked in pairs on a mapping assignment and began an assignment on climate graphs.  We will complete this lesson tomorrow.

Grade 8: Devotions:  Mrs. Riimand read from Ephesians 4:17-5:21.  She read "Hot Under the Collar" with the class. They opened with prayer.
 
Grade 8: Bible: Mrs. Riimand worked through lesson 5 "Prisoner for Christ" with the class.
 
Grade 8: Math: The students worked on questions 16 through 21 from lesson 4-8.
 
Grade 8: French:  The students worked on allons-y from lesson 5 (pp 78-79).

Whole School: Assembly: Pastor Jeff led the assembly this morning.  Mrs. Mann led in worship this morning.
 
Grade 8: Math:  We took up our work from exercises 4-8.  I went through areas of difficulty with the class.  We worked through some problems from exercises 4-8 # 5 through 15.  I assigned the rest to be completed for tomorrow.
 
Grade 8: Geography: The students continued working on their city projects.
 
Grade 8: French:  I taught the "futur proche" p 76 to the students.

Grade 8: Computation:  The students did short division drill # 17.  Katrina took up the drill with the class.
 
Grade 8: Devotions: Mrs. Benjamins read from John 3:1-21. She read "Born Again" from our devotional book.  She opened with prayer.
 
Grade 8: Bible: Mrs. Benjamins took lesson 4 with the class.
 
Grade 8: Math:  She worked through lesson 4-8 "Writing Equations" with the class.  the students worked on questions one through four from exercises 4-8.  This is due on Monday.
 
Grade 8: French:  The class read the dialogue from pp 72-73.  they reviewed the vocabulary from p 75 and did "je comprends" from p 75.
 
Grade 8: Problem Solving:  The students were assigned "Vacation Travel" and "Furniture Shopping".  These are due next Friday.

Grade 8: Devotions:  I read from Isaiah 40:15-31 to the end.  I read "Second Nature" from our devotional.  We had a discussion about how God uses all aspects of Creation and that all of Creation is called to glorify Him.  I opened with prayer.

Grade 8: Geography: The class continued working on their city projects.

Grade 7: Geography: The class worked on handout on "camping".  It was our introduction to the Coniferous Forest Biome unit.  the handout should be completed for next Wednesday.

Grade 8: Bible:  The students continued with their group work for lesson three.  this work is due tomorrow.
 
Grade 8: Math:  The students continued working on the equation work from yesterday.  They put their answers on chart paper and will present their answers tomorrow.
 
Grade 7: Geography: The class finished off their work from lesson 11.

Grade 8: Devotions:  We read from 1 Thessalonians 5.  I read "Points to Ponder...Prayer" with the class.  The students reflected on one of the quotes in their journal.  I opened with prayer.
 
Grade 8: Bible: I took up questions 14 and 15 from lesson two with the class.  the students were divided into groups to work on lesson 3: "Paul Before Agrippa".  They will have tomorrow's class to finish this lesson.
 
Grade 8: Math:  I took up questions 3 and 4 from exercises 6-7.  We reviewed isolating the variable in formulas.  The students were assigned questions 6 through 15 to be worked on in groups and presented for tomorrow's class.
 
Grade 8: French:  We did our test on Unit 4.

Whole School: Assembly: The grade eight class led the assembly this morning.  Their focus was on the Beatitudes.  Mrs. Mann and Katrina led in worship this morning.
 
Grade 8: Math:  We took up our work from exercises 4-6.  I went through areas of difficulty with the class.  I taught lesson 4-7 "Working With Formulas”.  I assign questions 1, 2, 3, and 4 from exercises 4-7.  This needs to be completed for tomorrow.
 
Grade 8: Geography: We completed lesson 12 today.  We began our projects on building communities.

Grade 8: Devotions:  Mrs. Jankovic led the class in devotions this morning.  She read Colossians 4:2-6.  She read "Maybe Tomorrow" from our devotional book.  She opened the day with prayer.
 
Grade 8: Bible:  The class completed lesson one from unit 8 with Mrs. Jankovic.
 
Grade 8: Math:  They took up exercises 4-5 as a class.  Mrs. Jankovic taught less 4-6 "Checking Solutions".  The students did exercises 4-6 question number 1.
 
Grade 7: Geography: The class worked on: Lesson 11: “One Toyota Factory Gained Is A Little More Foodland Lost”.  Each student read through the section and answered the questions found on WS 11-2.  (This was done independently; each student will be graded on this project).

Grade 8: Math:  We took up our work from exercises 4-4.  I went through all of the homework with the class.  I taught lesson 4-5 "Equations with Fractional Coefficients”.  I assign questions 1c, f, i; 2a, d; 4a, i; 5a, i; and 6a from exercises 4-5.  this needs to be completed for tomorrow.
 
Grade 8: Geography: We worked on: Lesson 11: “One Toyota Factory Gained Is A Little More Foodland Lost”.  Each student read through the section and answered the questions found on WS 11-2.  (This was done independently; each student will be graded on this project).

Grade 8: Math:  We took up our work from yesterday. I taught the second half of the lesson from 4-4.  The students were assigned questions 2a, c, e, ; 3a, g; 4e, m; and 5e, f.  These are due tomorrow.

Grade 8: Math:  We took up our work from last class.  I worked through any area of difficulty with the students.  I taught lesson 4-4 "Combining Terms Containing the Variable”.  I assign question 1 from exercises 4-4, questions a, c, e, g, i, k, and m.
 
Grade 8: Geography: We began our work on lesson 10: "Cities".  The students will be doing group work on the benefits and drawbacks of cities.

Grade 8: Party:  The students had a surprise birthday party for me.  We ate cake and drank pop.  we had a lot of fun.
 
Grade 8: Math:  We went over our work from exercises 4-3 as a class.  We spent a lot of time going over the steps for solving equations.  the students are continuing their work on exercises 4-3 questions 4 through 8.  They are to complete questions 4 through 6 and attempt questions 7 and 8.  we will be moving on to lesson 4-4 on Monday.
 
Grade 8: French:  The students worked on "je me souviens" exercises A and B.  We had a verb quiz.

Grade 8: Problem Solving:  We worked on a multistep problem involving geometry and algebra as a group.

Grade 8: French:  The students completed bons voyage from unit 4.  They also worked on the translation from pp68-69.
