The History behind Brantford Christian School
On Monday September 26th, 1955 a meeting was held in Brantford by a group of Christian people who were interested in promoting the establishment and maintenance of a school for Christian instruction. Thirty-nine people signed up as members of the society and a board was elected.
Since not many other Christian schools existed that could be used as models, much groundwork had to be covered. After much hard work and prayer, the Brantford Christian School opened its doors to thirty-eight students in September of 1963.
Brantford Christian School is a non – denominational, charitable organization which is registered with Revenue Canada. The school is funded mainly by its parent members and is governed by an elected Board of Directors. It is the philosophy and commitment of the Board and the school staff that God must come first in all of life. This includes the education of our children. Brantford Christian School may outwardly appear to be like any other school but inwardly it is distinctly different. Supporting Christian education is an investment in the growth of the kingdom of Jesus Christ. It is our responsibility to make that investment on behalf of our children.
As Proverbs 22:6 clearly states:
"Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it.”
The responsibility for a child’s training is an explicit God-given mandate.
